Tonight, fans were treated to a double episode, full hour block of 2 Broke Girls.
Finally an episode in which Sophie did not seem overwhelming, and take away from the story more than she gave to it.
With Cedric the Entertainer playing Earl’s son and hopeful comedian Darius the Hilarious, there was no deficit of jokes and humor on tonight’s all new 2 Broke Girls.
I’m going to be honest, I actually had to watch this episode twice, because I was too distracted by baseball to fully focus on the new episode the first time through. However, even without the distraction, the second time viewing the episode was not that much better.
I found myself bored and disconnected as a whole. The episode just felt flat, and predictable. They need new characters or something, because there are only so many height and gay jokes they can make about Han before it feels old and tired. Sometimes its still funny but other times you just see him and know its coming and then its just a matter of can the quips live up to your expectation for the moment or not.
I really enjoyed season one as a whole, but there were times when the show took the level off comedy really low. The opening sequence of tonight’s episode “And the Hidden Stash” echoed that sentiment to me. Yes, I know the breast feeding/age issue has been highly publicized of late, with a seemingly increasing level of older children still feeding, but I’m with Caroline, it kind of makes me sick. The dead twin/doll thing with Sophia really was awful too.
I can’t believe the2 Broke Girlsseason finale is already upon us. It doesn’t seem possible. This freshman CBS comedy has been a great addition to their successful line up. I look forward to seeing what laughs and tricks the girls bring to their sophomore season in the fall.
Until then, I will have to enjoy the one hour two part finale guest starring Martha Stewart.
When Caroline uses the girls contact with Peach to get the cupcake business a new client, Max is less than thrilled by the result. Max doesn’t want to risk her job and relationship with Peach to further the cupcake business. She also is not a fan of the order requested by the new client, as buttercream frosting is a “bitch.”
It’s Tax Day and Max hasn’t filed her taxes for the year yet… or in any years past. Will Caroline’s business sense be able to handle the mess that is Max’s financial life?
Aside from the same scheduling complaints I have for Hawaii Five 0 (and all other CBS shows), “And the Drug Money” was a great episode of the freshman comedy. When Max and Caroline are in need of some quick cash, they enter a drug trial in order to make $500 each.
In “And the Spring Break” Caroline and Max take a break from the diner and life by spending a small vacation dog sitting for a rich gay couple in their lavished apartment.
